Big Bear Road Conditions
Take the time to check the road conditions before getting on the road. While getting to your cabin rental in Big Bear is usually easy and uneventful, checking ahead of time can save you time... and a headache.
It is highly recommended that you always carry snow chains in your vehicle if your coming to the San Bernardino mountains during the winter months (November through March).
This is the "front way". Highway 330 is the shortest, most common road to reach Big Bear Lake. It passes through the town of Running Springs.
This is the "back way". Highway 38 is also a very direct route to Big Bear though it usually sees less traffic than highway 330. It passes through the town of Redlands.
This is the "desert way". Highway 18 passes through the town of Lucerne Valley and it is more accessible to our visitors coming from the North (northern California, Nevada, etc). This highway is usually the best option during the snowy conditions.
