You are gazing at the mountain tops and trees from Bairn's Lodge spacious back deck with your first cup of coffee feeling the heat and stress of the city melt away. What will the family do today? Will you walk or mountain bike into the nearby National Forest without getting in the car? Do you want to adventure further a field and take a short drive down to the lake to go fishing, mountain bike the dirt roads behind the ski area, hike to an old silver mine, or find a mountain waterfall and swimming hole? The outdoor possibilities are endless with the warm days and crisp nights in Big Bear.

After this first cup, you were planning on trying that dessert recipe for triple chocolate brownies with ice cream and fudge sauce... The kitchen at Bairn's Lodge will make you feel like a gourmet chef even if you're just re-heating leftovers or barbequing juicy steaks on the Weber grill.

Tonight you will watch the sunset from the Adirondack chairs on the front porch and just before bedtime return to count the shooting stars. After dinner your family will prepare for a gamefest starting with Monopoly, a round of 8 ball at the pool table, on to Twister and a play-off at ping pong. Too tired to play? There are three large screen TV's with DVD's so everyone can watch their favorite movie.
